Great But EXTREMELY Hot Day In the Lord

We really had a great SS class, worship service and Brother Nowling preached an enlightening message on the laver within the wilderness tabernacle and it's comparison to sancification. It was great and it was one time that we were greatful that the church building is cement blocks as it was nice and cool (especially in the basement) and comfortable upstairs considering it was 97 degrees and very humid.

We're planning on going to Anchorage. All flights are still booked from Seattle to Anchorage but we feel the Lord's going to provide a miracle and get us there some way. Please continue praying.

We got the Alaska convention program and Brother Nowling said now I know we're really suppose to go to Alaska as he tossed it to me. It was addressed to Bishop JADA Nowling. We were laughing soooo hard. Thinking he just addressed the envelope wrong, we started looking at the program and the laughter continue. Brother Grant has "Nowlings sing"...NOT! Brother Nowling doesn't sing. Then as we continue Bishop JADA Nowling is the special speaker Sunday night. We roared. We have always had problems with our overseer getting our names right. When we first got married and Brother Nowling got appointed to pastor Janesville, WI and I Sunday School state secretary, we would get mail that said JODA Nowling from overseer Paul H. Thompson. So Brother Nowling started going by J. Allan Nowling. That became his name on checks, applications everything. Then we went on to Brother Lester and the same thing happened. But this was the first time I was ever promoted to Bishop *smile*. I would look at the envelope and just shake my head and say "this is just wrong". I called Bobby and Annette to see if they got their program but they hadn't so I had to share it with them. The laughter continued. Finally today Brother Nowling called Brother Grant. And he already knew and he had us laughing again...he said being so far up North they're closer to heaven so therefore they get enlightened on things to come before everyone else, and it just slipped out too soon. I'm sure this be something that won't die. lol I'm sure not going to let it be forgotten *great big grin*

Well I'm going to try to get some sleep. Hopefully the night air has cooled enough that the window fans will cool our bedroom. Tomorrow is a family day. We all get to work together in the basement sorting through things and marking them for our thrift sale. *exciting* Thank God no going to the office.

Yes it is Jody (with a "y"). He's always hated his name, so it was real easy switching to J. Allan. When we first married he tried getting people to call him Allan but I told him that wasn't him. It just didn't cut it. Notice what his initials spell? So to say the least he doesn't use just his initials for anything either. :D His minister's license says "Bishop J. Allan Nowling". But he is Jody (actually I frequently call him just Jo). I'm glad Joleesa get called Joey as that was our intent.

Sis. Smith,

LOL. I'm sure it won't be passed in the assembly. It can't be and us still be The Church of God. *Imitates Brother Wilda, Hallejuhah* I wouldn't want that responsibility.

FAITH is the main ingredient of this adventure that's for sure. Thursday is our first step of faith as we fly to Anchorage for state convention on standby with no seats available from Seattle to Anchorage. We're going to be taught a lesson on faith and peace as I'm praying as we wait for our flights that we just stay calm and rest in the assurance that we're in God's hands.

I've thought of you folks as you left Colorado and went to Virginia and it sounds like it has become home for you. Both the people and your house. We're looking for God to do the same thing for us.
